Protecting your privacy is important to Sunshine Coast Council (ABN 37 876 973 913), the organiser of Horizon Festival (\u2018the festival\u2019, \u2018us\u2019, \u2018we\u2019, \u2018our\u2019). This document sets out our policies for managing your personal information and is referred to as our Horizon Festival\u2019s Privacy Policy and Collection Notice<\/strong>. The Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (the Act)  sets out 11 Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) which  contain obligations about the collection, storage, security, access, amendment and use and disclosure of personal information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will only collect, hold, use or disclose personal information in accordance with the Act and this Privacy Policy and Collection Notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personal Information<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Personal information refers to \u201cinformation or an opinion, including information or an opinion forming part of a database, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion\u201d. This Privacy Policy and Collection Notice outlines how we deal with your personal information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All reasonable steps are taken by Horizon Festival to protect the personal information we collect from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is Personal Information Collected?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collection of information will occur at the time a customer provides details to Horizon Festival or our authorised agents or when our electronic services are used to obtain information or make a transaction. Customers can purchase tickets from Horizon Festival online through our website, in person at the festival box office and through authorised ticketing agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horizon Festival also sends e-newsletters and communicates with customers through various online and electronic media including social media. Occasionally we may also collect information from customers when they attend an event or visit our website or by conducting a competition through any of the channels listed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horizon Festival also collects information from third parties such as authorised agents who sell tickets to festival events and venues that partner with the Festival to sell tickets to festival events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When purchasing a ticket from Horizon Festival we may request the following information from a customer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary reason we collect this information is to contact a customer in the event of a performance cancellation or postponement or to provide additional information as required. In some instances, we may request health information, with consent, from a customer to assist in accessibility bookings. This information is only gathered for the purpose of ensuring safety and access when attending our events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When visiting our website, our server makes a record of a customer\u2019s visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes \u2013 the user\u2019s server address, the user\u2019s top level domain name (eg. .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc.), the date and time of the visit to the site, the pages accessed, the previous site visited, and the type of browser used. No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the server\u2019s logs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use of Personal Information<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horizon Festival uses a customer\u2019s personal information in order to deliver tickets, process payments and make contact in the case of event cancellation, postponement or disruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We may also use personal information to conduct business communications such as processing purchases or donations, sending tickets, sending confirmation of purchases and receipts, responding to requests or enquiries and corresponding about competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horizon Festival requests health information only when necessary and with consent, to ensure safe access to a performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is Personal Information Provided to and used by Third Parties?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horizon Festival will not disclose personal information to third parties without your express consent to do so, except as set out in this Privacy Policy and Collection Notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers can request to stop receiving marketing communications from Horizon Festival. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. You can help us to do this by letting us know if you notice errors or discrepancies in information we hold about you and letting us know if your personal details change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
